Page 1-

 

1st Panel- Charlie Barker is holding up a bank with a couple of people.  Caption- "Everyone is crooked."  Caption 2- "If you disagree, you're lying, and therefore, crooked."  Caption 3- "This world won't allow men to be any different."  Caption 4- "Though the best of us have tried."

 

Charlie Barker- "Everybody shut the fuck up and get on your stomachs!"

 

Page 2-

 

1st Panel- Silas Barker is sitting in a jail.  Caption- "Men like my father."

 

2nd Panel- Constable Jesup approaches Silas from outside the cell.  Caption- "He was caught stealing gold from someone else's claim."

 

3rd Panel- Silas walks up to the bars of the cell.  Caption- "It was hard, cold times..."

 

4th Panel- Constable has his hands on his hips.  He looks like a smug old man, worn down by time and the duties of his job.  Caption- "...and he was trying to protect his family."

 

5th Panel- Silas grabs the bars.

 

Silas- "Will I get to see my son?"

 

6th Panel-  Constable Jesup- "I'll do ya one better.  You'll be a hero to your son.  Him and everbody else in this state."

 

7th Panel- Silas, smiling- "I'm all ears."  Caption- "That's how they got 'em."

 

Page 3-

 

1st Panel- Constable Jesup is talking through the cell.

 

Constable Jesup- "You heard of a place outside the southern border called Santa Moreno?"

 

Silas- "Yeah, a gamblin' town.  Pretty bustlin', innit?"

 

2nd Panel- Constable Jesup, looking completely serious.  Constable Jesup- "No Silas.  No, it's not.  Not anymore."

 

3rd Panel- Silas, looking confused-  "Whata you mean?"

 

4th Panel- Constable Jesup- "Smallpox.  Like nobody ever seen.  Real quick, real mean.  Doctors get sick before they can find out how to fight it."

 

5th Panel- Silas- "Sooo...you want me to deliver some vaccines?"

 

6th Panel- Constable Jesup- "No.  We want you to kill them.  And burn it to the ground."

 

7th Panel- Constable Jesup is walking off.

 

Constable Jesup- "Like nobody ever seen, Silas."

 

8th Panel- Shot of Silas, looking shocked.  Caption- "My father wasn't a murderer..."

 

Off Panel- "Like nobody ever seen..."

 

Page 4-

 

1st Panel-  Silas is on a horse, with several other men around him.  Altogether it will be ten.  Caption- "Neither were most of the other nine inmates they found."

 

2nd Panel- The group is riding through town.  Caption- "But they wanted their lives back."

 

3rd Panel- Side shot of the men.  They have rifles tucked into holsters on their saddles, and revolvers around their waists.  Caption- "They wanted their freedom."

 

4th Panel- They are riding through some woods on a trail.  Caption- "They instinctively fought..."

 

5th Panel- They have made it to Santa Moreno and are looking at it from a hill.  Caption- "...but at a heavy cost."
